<abstract label="Abstract" encodinganalog="545">Robeson County, named for Revolutionary War officer Colonel Thomas Robeson, is located in the southeast section of North Carolina.  It was formed in 1787 from part of Bladen County and is approximately 948 square miles.  The county seat is Lumberton. </abstract>
