The Outer Banks Antique Appraisal Fair has been rescheduled to April 21, 2007. It was originally scheduled for September 9, 2006. Sponsors, the Outer Banks History Center Associates, announced that the event was rescheduled to allow time to enlist more professional antique appraisers. Bill Harris, chairman of the History Center Associates, states, "because of the overwhelming public response, we found we needed a wider variety of specialists to evaluate the antique items expected. While reluctant to reschedule, we felt it necessary to do full justice to the History Center and to the public." The event will be held in the cafeteria of the new Nags Head Elementary School from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. Admission will be $10.00 and an appraisal fee of $10.00 per item will be charged. The fair is being held to help preserve the Outer Banks historical documents and records of the Outer Banks History Center in Manteo. An appraisal fair committee, chaired by Jim Lee, includes Theo Brooks, Sarah Downing, Christine Dumoulin and Anne Sanders. |
